Another Weekend in the Books

The Wisconsin Badgers finally get their first Big Ten win over Illinois and one South Valley community (Fond du Lac) have seen their trick-or-treat hours pass by. That's rather productive for a weekend, right?

On top of that, sports nuts got in some regular season hockey, the World Series, an exciting Penn State vs. Ohio State match-up and almost saw the Detroit Lions get their first win against a very solid Washington Redskins team (by almost, I mean they put together a decent first half). Following the sports theme thus far... Even though the Brewers finished up their appearance in the playoffs just a couple weeks ago, it feels like it's been an eternity since we've seen them play. I was thinking about that earlier today, along with what we, as fans, could do to get CC Sabathia back with the Brew Crew next year. Adam McCalvy answered that question in his recent Mailbag article on Brewers.com:

"If someone started a "Keep CC in Milwaukee" fan fund, we'd line up to pledge. Even with the economy in the dumps, it would give us an opportunity to support something that gave us a lot of enjoyment in '08. Sabathia's performance and his presence in Milwaukee as a symbol of the team's commitment to win really lit up Miller Park. What do you say? Want to lead the charge?-- Gary & Karen B., Stoughton, Wis.

There are about 5.6 million residents in Wisconsin, so you would need every man, woman and child to contribute $25 to surpass Johan Santana's contract with the Mets. "

Anyone up for a CC Tax? I'd pay!
