Here We Go

There's a LOT to take in this weekend. Well, at least for me there is. Saturday at the Seventies then heading to Milwaukee for a New Found Glory Halloween show at The Rave and then the game of the century on Sunday! Any parent with kids in middle/elementary school who are also Packer fans have a pretty busy weekend too. We've got trick-or-treating tomorrow around the South Valley (and you check out your city/town's hours right here). I know it has been talked about soooo much over the last few months and especially the last week, but I want to mention something that ESPN and all of the other sports outlets have been glossing over.

Most mornings I wake up by watching FirsTake on ESPN2. This week I haven't been able to stomach it though due to their hosts still believing that the Packers made a mistake to let Favre go. STILL! I encourage everyone to take a look at the quarterback stats on NFL.com and see who the number 2 quarterback in the league is. Yeah, that's right. Aaron Freakin' Rodgers! I understand that Favre did a lot for the Packer while wearing the Green and Gold, but to say that he would be able to get things done any better than Rodgers is crazy!

Now, I believe that Favre can still play, he's proved that fact. However, I strongly believe that at this time, Rodgers is the better quarterback. I'm not saying that because I'm bitter or because he's on my fantasy team (well, maybe a litte ;) but if it weren't for the terrible pass protection and dropped passes, Rodgers would most certainly be the highest rated quarterback in the league.

Let's also not forget the drama that Favre stretched out over the last two off-seasons. Would you really think that Aaron would stick around if that happened to him two years in a row? I can just imagine the conversation, "Hey Aaron, I know we've said that you'd be the starter two years in a row here and not delivered, but guess what?! Brett's coming back again!" He'd be on the next plane to another team and we'd be stuck with Matt Flynn after Brett eventually did leave. Not cool.

So to all the Favre fans who support #4 over the Green Bay Packers, I sincerely hope that any of your cheers get drowned out by the boos, and that Rodgers gets the loudest ovation in the history of Lambeau Field. The apprentice has now become the master, and it will be proven on Sunday. Book it!
