It seems fitting that the team known for their choking in the playoffs and their new quarterback who also has a good reputation of that, choked in the final seconds yesterday to put the Saints in the Super Bowl after a 31-28 overtime win over the Vikings. The game went back and forth and even though the Saints defense roughed up Favre on multiple occassions, he still battled back and kept his team in the game. That is, until his final pass was picked off due to an illogical decision to throw the ball rather than run for it and put his team in a postition to win the game with a field goal.
As a Packer fan, I've seen this many times and was able to move past it since he was Brett Favre. He's a fantastic quarterback who suffers from terrible decision making when it matters most (during the second half of his career more specifically). He threw the game away two years ago when the Packers were set to win in overtime agains the Giants in the NFC Championship game and threw it to the ONLY covered receiver. He also did it against Philly in overtime a number of years ago. But it's Favre. He gave us plenty of great moments and brought the glory years back to Green Bay. Now the Vikings fans are getting a taste of it for the first time.
