Everyone who sees movies based on books that they love seem to favor the book over the movie. I strongly believe that's because no director/actor/producer can replicate the quality of our own imaginations. Do you prefer one over the other?
I wonder how that applies to graphic novels... I mean, when it's all drawn for you, there's not much left to the imagination. I suppose you could say the art direction might not live up to the art in the books, but we'll see. Sure, I've seen Sin City, Watchmen and a variety of other movies based on graphic novels, but a lot of the time I saw the movie before the books (Watchmen excluded).
I have yet to check out Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World but I have read all of the books. I'll find out tonight after the shift whether or not the movie lives up to my opinion of the books. Here's hoping they deliver!
Here's today's Web Waster:
FutilityCloset - They describe themselves best, "No matter how much you love your job, you can’t work for 10 hours straight. That’s why there’s Futility Closet — 4,962 anecdotes, epigrams, illusions and wonders; puzzles, prodigies, sublimities and horrors. Read a few and get back to work. We’ll keep finding more."
