Hump Day Artist of the Week III

It's hard to believe that I'm on the third iteration of the Hump Day Artist of the Week. These weeks go by faster and faster! Well, whaddya say we jump right into it?

It's the holidays, so why not feature a fantastic Christmas CD for this week? Garth Brooks is the man. Plain and simple. Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. What do you get when you put the two together? Magic. Not just any magic, but Garth's Christmas CD, "Garth Brooks & The Magic of Christmas."

Garth just has one of those honest voices. You hear him sing, and you think, "Yeah, he's dead on there." He's got so much emotion behind each of his songs and really opens himself up when he performs. The same is true for this fantastic Christmas album. When you turn it on, you're welcomed into a warmth of holiday greatness with the first track, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year." During the song, you'll think that this is a good track, but that the quality of material will surely drop. This is most certainly not the case!

You'll move on to classics like "White Christmas" and "Let it Snow" and you'll probably be surprised by the gospel inspired song "Baby Jesus is Born" which is one of my favorites for the sheer energy alone (the back-up choir is also great on this one).

So in between your Harry Connick Jr. and Michael Bolton Christmas CDs, be sure to pop this one in too, I'm sure you won't regret it ;)
