Today marks the first primary election of 2009 for a host of local public officials, including the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. The actual number of people who will go out and vote today though will be somewhere around 4 to 8%, which I think is a little sad. These elections are just as important than the highly publicized national elections, if not more so. These people will be making decisions that will directly effect how we live our lives in the South Valley and they need to be properly elected by their peers. We are a democracy afterall, aren't we? So get out there and make an educated vote!
