Well, it's finally here. The 2009 Milwaukee Brewers season is underway with an underwhelming performance yesterday at AT&T Park against the San Fransico Giants. The Brew Crew fell 10-6 in what was an exciting back and forth game until the fifth inning when the Giants kept adding to their lead.
While it was great in the early innings to see some decent hits and bringing runners home, some of the same problems from last year reared their ugly heads as well. Namely the pitching. The Giants scored in every inning but 2, which adds up pretty fast. Also, when it really mattered, the Brewers kept stranding runners.
I know that it's just the first game and there are PLENTY more to come, but I hope that throughout the season we start to see some of these things get ironed out.
