Where We're Going, We Don't Need... Roads

The MS Saturday Spin is a little more than a week away, and guess who's going to join in?  That's right, yours truly.  But rather than put me on a trainer, which provides resistance for your rear wheel but your front wheel stays stationary, our friends at Fond du Lac Cyclery decided it would be fun to put me on rollers.  Rollers are part of a hell-born contraption that reminds you every second that you never properly learned how to ride a bike.

Sure, I can ride a bike just fine, but I am definitely not the most graceful rider in the flock, and I am brutally reminded by these things.  I first tried them out last Friday and after about an hour, I started to sorta, kinda get the hang of it.  It really is incredible how different it is on the rollers rather than the street.  Every little tweak of the handle bars could send me crashing to the ground in a pile of inexperienced goo.

Well, I went back in today and things are progressing ever so slightly.  I've at least moved my fear of death over to just serious injury and/or dismemberment.  Of course, I'm embellishing just a tad, but it really is very difficult.  Now, keeping that in mind, here's where you, the listener, comes in.

How would you like to score a $50 gift card to Fond du Lac Cyclery just by guessing how long I can last at the MS Saturday Spin on the 20th?  Well, all you have to do is head over to the K107.1 Studios (254 Winnebago Dr. in Fond du Lac) or to Fond du Lac Cyclery (S. Main Street) and donate to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  With your donation will be an entry form to make your guess as to how long I can ride, starting at 10:00am on Saturday, February 20th at Forest Mall.  If you're the closest, then you'll win that $50 gift card.

Are your guessing muscles a bit out of shape?  Well, then work your other muscles by participating at the Spin on the 20th.  Download a form here and we'll see you on the 20th!
