I won't lie, I was super nerdy over the last two days as I was absorbing all the news coming from E3, or the Electronic Entertainment Expo, in Los Angeles. In addition to all of the news on some of this year's biggest titles like Halo: Reach, Gears of War 3, Twisted Metal, Metroid: Other M and many more, there were also some big reveals for the casual gamers out there. The biggest of which has to be the all-new Nintendo 3DS.
It's a portable game console that's very similar to the DS that many kids, adults, moms, dads, grandmas and grandpas already play and love, but this time with a 3D screen. The awesome thing about that screen though, is that there are no glasses required for the 3D effect to work! The reports show that it's not a subtle effect either, it's essentially the 3D that movie goers have been used to over the last year or so, just portable and no glasses!
It's also backwards compatible with all DS software and will also feature movies in 3D from Disney, Warner Brothers, Dreamworks and more. It's pretty cool stuff and will definitely be another entry that will broaden the term "gamer" just as the Wii and DS did years ago.
