It's On Like Donkey Kong!

Donkey Kong Country Returns is one of the most exciting games (for me) to be announced at E3 this week.  The original Donkey Kong Country was bundled in with the Super Nintendo that my parents got me many moons ago.  I remember asking if we could rent one for a big sleepover I wanted to have.  Them hemmed and hawed and the night was coming closer and closer and still no answer.  Then, that night Dad walks down the stairs with a Super NES in his hands!  Not rented, but brand new, in the box, honest to goodness Super Nintendo greatness!

Since Nintendo went retro with a bunch of their game announcements this week, I'm going to go ahead and go retro with my first Father's Day observance:  Thanks for the Super Nintendo Dad!  You're the best!

AVClub - I visit the A.V. Club regularly and just realized that I never featured it here.  The site has great news and articles on music, movies, tech, websites, books and so much more.  It's like what Entertainment Weekly would be with a web focus... and was good.
