Best Weekend of the Year

Holy Crap-O-La!

What a fantastic weekend all around. First off, the Green Bay Packers absolutely dominate the game on Saturday! Well, at least the last 56 minutes of the game. To come back after two fumbles that made the score Seattle 14 Green Bay 0 is great; to DOMINATE 42-6 from that point is astronomical! I was nervous about this game, and the fumbles made me a little sick to my stomach to be honest. I thought that it was all going to be over but Brett Favre, Ryan Grant and Atari Bigby came up absolutely huge to show the team that they are better than that and everyone followed suit. Just a fantastic way to spend Saturday afternoon.

Then, on Sunday I made the trip to Green Bay to check out the Gamblers on the ice. I'm a big fan of hockey and it was good to take in the first game of 2008 for me. The Gamblers lost 5-2, but it's more about the chance to check out a sporting event on a budget. It's got the same appeal as the Wisconsin Timberattlers. If you haven't had a chance to get to a game yet, I highly recommend it. From there, our convoy made a stop at the Buffalo Wild Wings just down the road from the Resch Center and gorged ourselves on wings and various fried potatoes. And that wasn't the best part! We stuck around and watched the Dallas Cowboys crumble against the New York Giants! The road to Super Bowl XLII goes through Green Bay baby!

After the taste of 14 signature sauces in our mouths and the sweet NY Giants victory in our hearts, I decided that the night should get capped off with a good movie. And so we checked out "Juno." And I must say, it was a delightful movie all around. It comprised of three of my favorite people in Hollywood right now: Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, and Jennifer Garner. Those three combined with the outstanding performance by Ellen Page made for a great experience at the theatre. If you haven't seen it yet, do it. You won't regret it. It's real, it's sincere, and it's fun. You'll most likely leave with a smile on your face and a skip in your step.

So now, I get ready for another edition of the Second Shift with great intensity and I can't wait to spend more time giving you free stuff! All this week, we're all getting people qualified to win a hot new Super Slice phone from Virgin Mobile loaded up with free minutes! All you have to do is listen for the quick sounder of Madonna singing "Like a Virgin" (haha, get it?) and the cool announcer lady saying the number for the K-Lines, which by the way is 1-800-266-1071, and if you're caller 7 then we'll get you set for the drawing on Friday the 18th!

And if that's not enough, I'm giving you chances to win McDonald's every single day! It's the "McSong of the Day" and if you can answer a little trivia question, then I'm gonna hook you up with some delicious Snack Wraps for the drive home! Man, 2008 is already shaping up to be a great year, and we're only 14 days in!

Holy Crap-O-La!
